Our Ministry

During the last period, God has blessed me and my family in several ways. My teaching ministry at Bethlehem Bible College and its extension in Galilee is growing. Several students are enjoying studying the Bible as well as Theology. We have very lively debates in most of my classes. I truly thank the Lord for the opportunity of seeing a new generation of equipped leaders. During the past several months, God has used me to touch the lives of many leaders in Bethlehem, Jerusalem, Kufer Yassif, and Nazareth. Further, Bethlehem Bible College is cooperating with Nazareth Baptist School and training their teachers. I am teaching the gospel of John to a group of teachers at Nazareth Baptist School. The teachers come from different denominations including Catholics, Orthodox, and Evangelicals. They ask important questions about the message of the text especially the way it relates to their lives.

We are also busy training three ministers

Dina is progressing in her studies. She has four more classes before she earns her MA in Biblical Counseling – Women Studies. Her classes are very demanding and entail a lot of readings and papers. However, she is very determined to keep working hard towards the goal. Dina is also involved in personal Evangelism as well as in counseling. Of course, she is a busy Mom who takes care of Immanuel (5 years old), Jonathan (3 years), Christopher (1 year old), as well as of me.

Conferences and Papers

I have been blessed with several conferences and opportunities of presenting papers. For example, I spoke at the Jerusalem 2008 International Council of Christians and Jews. I have learned many things especially from Jewish scholars and I had the privilege of presenting a christocentric biblical worldview. I am also interacting with several theologians from different denominations (Catholics, Orthodox, Anglicans, etc). This interaction is generating very enriching discussions and is helping me to be an evangelical witness who is sensitive to the concerns of other denominations.

Publications

I am blessed to see the publication of the following materials:

(1) “Palestinian Christian Responses to a World Marked by Violence,” in Missiology: An International Review 2008 (Journal).

(2) “Hagar from a Palestinian Arab Evangelical Perspective,” in Roundtable 2008 (Journal).

(3) “Palestinian Christian Responses to the Conflict,” in Christian Perspectives on the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict (Book, 2008).

(4) Further, I have published three book reviews on three different Palestinian theologians:

(a) Min Wahi Asa‘ah by Bishop Botrus Mualem; (b) The Intifada of Heaven and Earth by Geries Khoury, and (c) Arab Christians (’arab masihioun') by Geries Khoury. They are all found on www.comeandsee.com. Put my last name in the search icon and you will be able to see all of them.

We wholeheartedly envy your prayers especially for:

  1. Dina’s studies
  2. Yohanna’s conference in Egypt (August 2008) in which he addresses the issue of Arabs in the Bible; his conference in Bern-Switzerland (Sept 2008) in which he addresses the issue of Jerusalem as the city of God.
  3. The new students of Galilee Bible College and its growing ministries in Galilee. Pray for the new classes that will start in Haifa in September 2008.
